LinkedIn Rolls Out New Newsletter Metrics
This could help LinkedIn newsletter creators better target and optimize their approaches

Instagram Tests AI-Based Tasks via DMs

Instagram is currently experimenting with a new “Create Task” prompt within its DM options that would enable you to initiate a simple action based on the content of a message. Which could be a convenient way to ensure you follow-up on key prompts and notes, and I can see how it could quickly become a valuable, relied-upon addition.
Instagram Adds Text-Only Testimonials To Partnership Ads

Instagram’s rolling out Partnership testimonials, which will appear as a “Sponsored” comment in the post comments. The partnership will also be denoted in the post creator header, as per the usual display of IG’s Partnership Ads.
Indeed, Instagram says that 40% of people use creator recommendations on Instagram when they’re shopping, which could make these direct, personalized acknowledgments a powerful way to drive more interest, and sales, in the app. Testimonials will be limited to 125 characters, so creators will need to keep it brief, and brands will only be able to include one testimonial comment per Partnership post at this stage.

TikTok Begins Laying Off Members of Trust and Safety Team

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew said in testimony before Congress last January that the company would spend more than $2 billion on trust and safety efforts, but layoffs in those areas that reportedly began Thursday suggest a reversal of that strategy.
YouTube Plans Lower-Priced, Ad-Free Version of Paid Video Tier

YouTube plans to introduce a new, lower-priced version of its paid video service, offering its vast library of podcasts and how-to clips without advertising. The package, dubbed “premium lite,” will be announced soon in the U.S., Australia, Germany and Thailand, according to a person familiar with the plans. The service will target viewers who primarily want to watch programs other than music videos.
LinkedIn has added two new metrics for newsletter creators in the app, with “email sends” and “email open rates” now available via your newsletter analytics page, providing more ways to measure the performance of your communications.
LinkedIn has long provided data on overall article views, as well as new subscribers gained. But this week, it’s added two new metrics to its newsletter data set:
Email sends - The number of subscribers that have received an email for this article.
Email open rate - The percentage of subscribers that have opened the email sent for this article. This number is an estimate and may not be precise.
These are valuable additions, which could help LinkedIn newsletter creators better target and optimize their approaches, by providing more insight into what’s resonating with their email list.
Facebook is about to mass delete a lot of old livestreams

Facebook will start deleting users’ live broadcast recordings after 30 days starting on February 19th. Users who go live after that date must download the videos to save them from getting deleted before their 30-day expiration period ends. Alternatively, you could share the recordings to your profile as Reels, although that means fitting clips into that format’s 90-second time limit.
