YouTube is offering 3 months of free usage of Repurpose.io to enable creators in other apps to migrate to YouTube Shorts. Which, again, given the uncertainty around TikTok, will no doubt see a lot of take-up.
Pinterest Reports Record Usage and Revenue in Q4

Pinterest has published its latest performance update, which shows that the app reached new highs in both active users and revenue in Q4, as it continues on its path towards driving more product discovery. First off, on users. Pinterest reached a new high of 553 million monthly active in Q4, up 16 million on Q3.
That means that Pinterest is gaining growth momentum, with more users coming to the app to search for trending products. BuzzFeed is considering building its own social media platform

In a Slack message last week shared with Semafor, BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti said that the company wanted to avoid being at the whim of major tech platforms that have long been the distributor of BuzzFeed’s content. “It’s clear we can’t rely on the platforms to create a positive environment for content creators like us. YouTube has announced an expanded release of its text-for-speech feature for Shorts, while it’s also launching a new series to help promote safer internet use among teens for Safer Internet Day as part of its latest feature update. First off, YouTube’s bringing text-to-speech to more Shorts creators, with YouTube’s version of the popular audio overdub option now available on iOS, in addition to Android.
YouTube launched text-for-speech on Android last July, providing another option to present key details in your clips. And now, more Shorts creators will be able to include an automated voiceover on their videos.
